Nervous System Health
I’ve learnt to be quite a ‘worrier’ and I can have a tendency to be easily knocked off balance by stress.
At times that has impacted my own health, and sometimes my relationships.
We are designed for periods of stress on/stress off - periods of hardworking, high physical demands followed by rest and relaxation. This back and forth dynamic between stress and relaxation helps trigger and maintain healthy levels of cellular repair, hormone production, liver detoxification, immune and digestive function.
However, the new ‘norm’ in our Western society is stress on/stress on. Evolutionarily, we are most certainly not designed for this, and our bodies have a hard time resetting itself back to normal. Instead, we tend to be completely wiped out because our bodies are constantly bathed in stress hormones. This compromises all the body functions described above, leading to more and more fatigue until our body (and brain) are completely wiped out.
My goal is to help anyone and everyone adopt a much slower pace to life.
Together, we will work on being able to tap in to the body’s signals asking you to slow down. We’ll clear the ‘muddy waters’ of extra dietary stressors in order to lay a solid foundation to allow healing within the body to occur. Mindfulness and stress reduction techniques are implemented also, creating greater resilience for those times in life when we’re required to give just that little bit more from the tank!
