Immune Health
I don’t know if I’ve ever said this to anyone before, but I’m incredibly grateful for being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder 5+ years ago. While the symptoms and impact were certainly challenging, the silver lining is all the knowledge I gained in getting well.
Our immune tissue is housed in our gut. So, whatever we are consuming, will always impact the state of our immune system. Pretty incredible right?! Yes, that is correct, if we are eating a nutrient poor diet, high in inflammatory culprits (refined and processed foods), you can bet that both our gut and immune function will be impacted.
I know for myself, when I’ve been a bit lax on my nutrition, and what foods I’m consuming, throw in a poor nights rest and I’m very quickly tipped off balance and in a state of being run down. Especially if I’ve been around someone who is unwell.
If I’ve been taking care of myself, I’m almost invincible. Even in the face of ills, chills and bugs. If I’m a little off balance in the sleep department and do end up getting a little run down, I’ll bounce right back within a day or two. I find that quite remarkable really! Because a decade ago it would have taken a week or more.
My goal when working with immune health is to help build immune resilience by rebuilding and repairing gut tissue health.
Together, we will work on getting rid of inflammatory culprits in both diet and lifestyle. We’re removing the obstacles to good health. Then we create a new foundation for the body’s functions to thrive in. Think of it as creating a new launchpad.
